Just got here...
I just got signed into live journal about a week ago, but I have been a stunt kiting enthusiast for years - to make it really obvious, my first (and still flying) kite is a Hawaiian Maui. I've also got a tie-dyed Micron, and a couple of cheap kites that don't fly very well.
One of the problems that I've been having recently is finding decent places to fly. I live in St. Paul, MN, and about the only park that I've found isn't over run with trees or softball players is Como Park, which is often over run with picnickers, and is certainly over run with people who don't pay attention.
Anyone got any ideas?
Just an intro...
I just got on lj about a month ago, and just found this community.
I am in Galena Illinois, and have a kite shop here.
I frequently get different kinds of info from various kite manufacturers and will try to earn my keep by posting info here, if I feel it is of general use. The Kite Trade Int'l trade show is in January. Look for a post after the show on what we were impressed by...
What's in my bag? My current favorite: a full-sized pyro delta in red. We are working up what promises to be some awesome night-flying attachments.
What's next? Probably a Sutton 252
Good winds all!
Hey I saw a lack of kite fliers in the Minnesota/MidWest area so I wanted to create a place where people can meetup and go out to fly. So I created the mw_kite
community. Feel free to join it if you like to fly kites or if you are interested in learning more.
In my kitebag:
